An Abundance of Kathrines -John Green

Book Summary: When it comes to relationships, Colin Singleton’s type is girls named Katherine. And when it comes to girls named Katherine, Colin is always getting dumped. Nineteen times, to be exact. On a road trip miles from home, this anagram-happy, washed-up child prodigy has ten thousand dollars in his pocket, a bloodthirsty feral hog on his trail, and an overweight, Judge Judy–loving best friend riding shotgun—but no Katherines. Colin is on a mission to prove The Theorem of Underlying Katherine Predictability, which he hopes will predict the future of any relationship, avenge Dumpees everywhere, and finally win him the girl. Love, friendship, and a dead Austro-Hungarian archduke add up to surprising and heart-changing conclusions in this ingeniously layered comic novel about reinventing oneself.

My Thoughts: I am in LOVE with John Green and his writing. I am currently reading through all of his works. While this book is not my favorite of the JG collection (it is still amazing) I still recommend it to you! Colin is a character that I think a lot of people can relate to. He wants to matter in this world, he wants to feel as special as everyone tells him he is. I also LOVE that this book is set in a small town. Being raised in a small southern town myself I love the idea that Colin could find himself in the simplicity of Gutshot. I really enjoyed that the moral of the story wasn't this crazy idea it was what we all know but sometimes lose sight of... the future is unpredictable... just enjoy the ride!!!
